Three post-incubation entrepreneurs of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI)’s Kano centre have won the Central Bank of Nigeria’s N900,000 prize for aspiring small and medium entrepreneurs in the country.
NBTI is a Federal Government’s agency in charge of training aspiring technology-based small entrepreneurs in the country.
A statement from NBTI’s public relations officer Uthman Abubakar said the apex bank gave the budding entrepreneurs the money for their various contributions to boosting the small/medium enterprises sector of the country’s economy.
According to Abubakar, the beneficiaries are: Messrs Aminchi Shoes (N400,000), Messrs Agritech General Enterprises (N250,000) and Messrs Tendency Technical Services (N250,000)
The statement said Messrs Aminchi Shoes was admitted in the TIC Kano in 1997 and they are into leather shoes and sandals production.
The statement read: “With a remarkable record of community service through training of youths and direct jobs creation as well as establishing dealers and sub-dealers across West Africa, Aminchi Shoes export their products to Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Chad and Senegal.
“Agritech General Enterprises, admitted in the TIC in 2007, fabricate improved Avian Incubator and render community service by training a total of 3,477 youth, women and retirees in hatcheries operation/poultry management, apart from facilitating the establishment of cottage industries, dealers and sub-dealers which culminated in the formation of the first Quail Sellers Association in the country.
“Messrs Tendency Technical, who joined the TIC in 2001, is into the design and fabrication of agro-allied machineries and equipment, including oil extraction machine.”
