Etisalat Nigeria gives top-up bonuses to boost customer base

Etisalat Nigeria has introduced the ‘9ja Free Credit Re-launch’ promotion in a bid to increase its subscriber base from the current 14 million to 15 million by the end of the year.

The promotion will offer free monthly credit bonuses of over NGN 1 billion. Director for products and services Lucas Dada said all new subscribers on the network would get 50 percent free credit for all recharges in one month, while existing subscribers would get 20 percent free credit. In addition, every subscriber gets an instant 10 percent bonus when they top up by NGN 200 or more.

The bonus credit can be used to call any network. When Etisalat first ran the promotion in June 2011, the subscriber base expanded from 6.8 million to 10.5 million in just a few months, Dada said.
