Nigeria adds 1.5 mln GSM subscribers in March

he number of active GSM lines in Nigeria increased to 94.53 million on 31 March, from 92.01 million a month earlier, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission’s data. CDMA operators fell to 4.01 million lines in March, from 4.03 million in February, while fixed wired/wireless lines rose to over 599,000 from 578,000 in the previous month. Total connected lines, including inactive lines, increased from 124.80 million in December 2011 to 134.91 million in March. Teledensity was at 70.82 percent at the end of the first quarter, versus 68.49 percent three months earlier.
