Vodacom Business, Partner Rack Centre Africa

Vodacom Business Nigeria, provider of total communication solutions has partnered Rack Centre Africa, a data centre service provider, to create a neutral data facility for the Nigerian market. The latter will provide Vodacom Business Nigeria with carrier neutral data centre infrastructure enabling the first premium collocation facilities in Nigeria.

The Tier3 collocation data centre will have a fully redundant system, and provide 99.995 per cent uptime and 96 hours power outage protection. Rack Centre Africa is a part of the Jagal Group, which has operations across a number of different industries.

According to Vodacom Business Nigeria, a neutral data centre remained integral in growing the Nigerian Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. The partnership, which will create a cost effective platform for network operators to interconnect in a neutral facility through collocation, will also encourage competition and diversity in the industry.

Vodacom is expected to provide its premium managed hosting services from this facility which will benefit its enterprise customers.
